So I saw Half-Blood Prince last night and I'm going to keep this as spoiler free as possible for those who haven't seen it or not read the book yet.

I liked it for what book six was. They did cut out two parts but the director said that they wanted to avoid repetition for future films, and it would have been nice to have the other one, but alas, movie versions can't be like the books.

I do like what they are doing with the Harry Potter series though. With the first two movies I could watch them and be like "oh, it's 90% of the book." But as they started movie three and four you can tell that while they're based off the books, they were trying to make HARRY POTTER MOVIES and not movie books. I don't know if I explained that properly or not, but basically they're making the movies better and their own thing. You can watch them now and just feel that it's Harry Potter.

I am looking forward to Deathly Hallows, as long as they don't delay the release. It's nice that they are doing the last book in two movies so that they can really do it properly and not cram it all in to a three hour movie.

When I look back on movies made from books you can either go wrong or just do it wonderfully. Sometimes you should be a mini series though. I'd love to see like a Gone With the Wind tv mini series so they could play the whole thing out. That's a book everyone should try to read at least once. I say try because you may not like it and stop reading it. The other day though I was like "let's watch Twilight!" and I tried but all I could do is go "wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong." Like, it's an okay adaption, but Kristen Stewart has no facial expression and her voice just stays mono toned the whole damn time.

And I'm going to go ramble to myself some more. Everyone should go see Half-Blood Prince though and read Gone With the Wind.

derp, books, harry potter, movies
