holy cow! i didn't know caterpillars got so BIG.
one of my student's brought this in today:
and yeah, it's that big. i did some research and it's an imperial moth caterpillar.
i was going to keep it in the room in one of these things, but they burrow underground and make a cocoon, then emerge in the summer.
