it's been awhile, i know. not that anyone reads this anyway.
so, been keeping busy. summer school for the kids is finally over and i spent 5 hours this morning at the office finishing up report cards. my neck hurts & i'm grumpy. at least they're done though.
last tuesday i registered for classes at usca & applied my tuition already. i'm official now & start august 24. out of the 4 classes i wanted, i didn't get 1. that's not too shabby, i don't think. the school of education is hella strict, and the dean is hella frightening. however, while both are not comforting, it's good that both are so strict. if i didn't have strictness, i wouldn't apply myself. so it's good to have the pressure. i think my status is a sophomore, which means that next year i'll already have to turn in my junior writing portfolio. *gulp* aye yi yi. these are the classes i'm taking (mostly at night):
AEDX 400- Introduction to People with Exeptionalities
AHST 101- World Civilizations to 1750
AMUS 173- Introduction to Music (i took this because World Music was full in all sections... how gay).
APSY 101- Introductory Psychology (for a refresjer)
so it blows, but johnson motor company got rid of corey last wednesday. it's not for anything he doing wrong though. they weren't making any money and they said they had to "cut back." because corey was the last guy hired, he was the first to go. what really blows about it all is that there is a 45 year old that works there that breaks cars, steals food, does what he wants, throw mop buckets & fans across the shop, cusses out the service manager, has been fired & continued to work- yet corey was let go before him. everyone thinks that this 45 year old douche bag has pictures of the owner. why the hell else would he get away with so much crap? anyway, a month ago i sent out resumes for corey to 2 independent shops here in aiken because johnson motor was taking such advantage of him. wednesday night he talked to steve, the owner of auto tech (1 of the places, obviously) and he asked corey to come in friday morning so he (steve) could see what he (corey) could do. thursday morning he calls corey & asks if corey can come in. so corey went in thursday, friday and today to work. he hasn't been "officially" told that he has the job, but surely he does if he's worked 3 days? hopefully he'll find out for sure today.
my sister is coming to town tonight- or she says she is. whether she actually does is still unknown until i see her physically. tomorrow she & i plan to bake corey a birthday cake while he's at work. we're going to make it 4 layers and dye a lot of icing insane colors. we refer to it as the "insane asylum cake." hopefully it'll turn out. i'll have to try to take a picture of it. corey turns 26 tomorrow-- yiiiiiiiiiii!
saturday (22nd) was the surprise party that i threw for corey. i can't take all of the credit for the success because i simply invited everyone, but it was great. corey was ridiculously surprised and had a GREAT time. i made it a point to mingle rather than run to a quiet room and hide. i figured if i planned the party, i had to at least be social. plus, a lot of people that i liked were there, which made it easy. :o)
wednesday amy and i are leaving for our vacation. we're staying in a cabin in kingsland, georgia. then we'll be driving to cumberland island, jekyll island, sapelo island, little saint simons island, and st. mary's. after we do georgia, we're going to myrtle beach to visit mom, dad, grandma & pappa.
so, i had to throw away all of my indoor houseplants today. they were all dying. i was doing everything for them that i did on palm drive, but they just don't do well in this house. i think it's too cool in here. aggravating. everything looks bare now without my plants. :o(
ok, think i'm going to run to hell-mart (wal-mart) and then come back and mow the yards. while the rain was good for the grass and flowers, it sure does make a mess all at the same time.
i'm grumpy from doing report cards still.
