Call me a bitch if you want, but I do not have a large amount of sympathy for most of the "victims." For those who cannot afford to live elsewhere and could not afford to leave, my heart goes out to you. I realize some events in life are inescapable, and you deserve all of the help you can get! I can't tell you how to feel, but I am entitled to my opinion. If you don't like it, don't read my journal. I said I was sorry for those who really need the sympathy, not the ones who buy million dollar mansions on the coast like they've shown on the news. (which I was really referring more to Florida anyway) I can empathize with your pain; I lost a third of my closest family in the same week. I stand by what I said, and I do not apologize for that. If you choose to live near an ocean, you know that hurricanes, tidal waves, etc. are a risk, and I am not going to feel too badly for you when that happens. If I moved right on a faultline in California, a major earthquake struck, killed my family, and ruined all of my possessions, what would people say? They might send their condolescences for lost loved ones, but they'd say "Kim, you're an idiot for moving there. You knew it was going to happen. Move somewhere else." I see it as the same way. I really don't think you interpreted my journal correctly, but it isn't for you to interpret.
