1. tomorrow night we start yoga. i've been wanting to take classes for a long while but never got around to it. i have yet to understand why most yoga classes occur during working hours. (for that matter, the salon i go to is offering a very interesting-looking class on how to blow out your hair like a professional. i definitely wanted to go until i saw that it was on a monday... at 3pm. um, okay. sooo... apparently that shows who they expect to be there.) we're starting this month with a foundation class because thus far my experience with yoga is only through the wii fit. not that i don't trust the wii fit's expertise in this area, i just figured learning the actual poses would be beneficial. after this month we can sign up for a monthly pass and take other classes.
2. since the class is right after work, on those days i am going to start taking what i would have eaten for dinner for lunch. in order to keep me from getting hungry before the class and eliminate a heavy meal after (since it doesn't end until 7:15 and i prefer to finish eating before 7). i am hoping this works out well!
3. in preparation for the class last weekend we got some gear at lululemon (mats, capris). part of me waiting until now in my weight loss to start yoga was a) not wanting to take on too much exercise at once and b) looking okay in tight clothes. when i was first looking in the store my gut reaction was fear that i might still be too big. they don't offer a 14 and i feared the 12 would be too small (one of the weirdest things about weight loss is your brain catching up with where your body actually is. i still fear pants that are really big won't fit some mornings). however, when i tried them on they felt too big. then i had a brain disconnect. surely i didn't wear a 10.... but i do! the 10s fit great.
4. after a few weeks of loosing very little (but not gaining, yay!) i have lost 3.3 pounds and gone down to the next lower tens place! i am 4 pounds from being "average" weight on my BMI and 3 pounds from a 30 pound loss. so i have about 13 total more to go until transitioning into maintenance.
5. i put it off a couple of weeks, but yesterday i finally went to a plato's closet here to sell some clothes. i read reviews on yelp that were not positive, saying the employees were all snobby and they barely took any clothes. my experience at the b.r. store has always been positive, so i wanted to go in with a positive outlook. first of all the store here is huge. way bigger than the other... also, it didn't smell. *lol* so that part was awesome. i got there about 30 minutes after they opened so i didn't have to wait long. i have to say, of every trip i've made to a plato's closet she did the most fair assessment of the clothes i brought in. when i was looking through what she didn't take i could completely see why. she took most of it and complemented me on them. this always inflates my confidence. however, what inflates it more is seeing how little they take from other people. ha! i walked out with more money than i expected and so few clothes left that i'll be able to donate the leftovers. all in all, a good experience.
6. i am fighting a non-paying-winner of my ebay action. what a piece. why did she bid on it if she had no intention of paying? tomorrow night i can close the case, which will leave a strike on her account, and i can offer a second chance offer to the other people that bid. if no one wants them i'll have to re-list. what a waste of time!
7. i am still picking and choosing what to buy to expand my wardrobe. i have a wishlist in place and i am mainly just having trouble deciding what to buy when... i don't want things to sell out, but i know that is always a possibility. so it becomes a question of "what would i be most devastated if it sold out?"
8. on thursday i finally switched my driver's license to texas. yes, we've been here almost a year. funnily enough, my old texas license was still valid (until 2014) so i only had to pay to get a new copy/address. *lol* so, awesome. granted, i did have to wait at the dmv for over an hour because of all the little first time drivers getting their permit/license. ah, summer.
9. august is my least favorite month, but the last one of "summer." yay!
becoming skinny,
inflating ego,
