My grandmother is still in the hospital. None of the tests have come back positive for a stroke yet, but all the symptoms are there. Her coordination seems unaffected, and she seems to understand everything alright. When she speaks if she doesn't concentrate very hard, the wrong words come out ("I put on a dirty shirt" instead of "I was going to church"). Her memory also seems to have gotten worse. This morning she asked who my mom was, when she said "Gale" grandma replied "that should be easy to remember, my daughter in law is named Gale." It looks like she will have to go into a nursing home. She's fiercely independent and won't like that at all.
