One-Line Excerpt: He let her have her fun.

Chuck Bass was on the prowl. No, not for sex, but for a new place to live. For, as you see, he and his wife were expanding, therefore the Basses needed something more baby-proof. (That, and Blair was getting bored. This gave her something to do.)

The couple decided to go with a real estate agent; a flaky, talkative, nosy woman by the name of - oh, who cared? He was tired of listening to this woman yap about the different apartments. But Blair insisted. Chuck hated it. He was CEO of a multi-billion dollar real estate company, the least he could do was find a home for his family without help from the help. He just sighed. The only reason Blair was probably doing this was because she liked giving orders and yelling when people fell short. He let her have her fun.

“It’s chilly. Is there no fireplace, no heater?” Blair questioned, staring diagonally from the woman.

The agent flinched. Things had not gone smoothly since she had gotten the Bass job. The wife was a firecracker and the husband never spoke. This was not how she expected the job to go. “Yes, there is a fireplace and heater, but since no one currently resides here, everything is off.”

“Well it’s not very welcoming,” snapped Blair. “Haven’t you taken real estate 101? You want the buyers to feel at home when looking for a home!” She stood up and crossed her arms in front of her, glaring. “Are the sellers afraid this poor excuse for an Upper East Side apartment will burn down if they let the heater on? No wonder it’s still on the market.” She stormed off toward the exit.

Mr. Bass stood up and glanced at the woman. And the only thing he ever said to her was this: “You’re fired.”
