To be honest, I was pulling my hair out trying to get this right, and by the time it ended up like this, I had edited and re-edited so much that I had no idea if it was any good and mostly just posted it in order to stop myself from going insane. I am really glad to hear that you like it!

Oh wow. I adore you so much right now. Fandom was trying to figure out this scene ever since S1 - and you just go ahead and make sense of it, without trying to justify/gloss over anything. Way to go, bb.

So this is how it is, and, if anyone ever asks, how it's always been: They're not friends. They never were friends. And when he holds Serena van der Woodsen down and fucks her, he won't be betraying anything.

She keeps up the charade of thinking there's an even playing field, telling him no like he'll listen.

They're not friends. He'd decided this in the days, and then weeks, and then months that she was gone, and he isn't looking to change his mind just because she smiles likes she knows him, and talks like she knows him, and did know him.

So much AMAZING in here.

Dude, I hardly think I solved any great mystery, as most of this was just all the things I have read/thought/considered about this scene over the past few years, recycled into a fic with a bit of fairytale thrown in, but I am really flattered that you would say that.

IDK, I think most people, myself included, are so afraid of writing about this scene (and the C/J one) because of the obviously delicate subject of rape, so I was really, really nervous about whether it would come off as offensive, or just not make any sense at all, but thank you so much for every thing that you said. <333
