PHOTO JOURNALISM!

A rash of events have transpired in the steamy weeks that made up the end of summer and the brisk mornings of the oncoming autumn. (Ah, the delights of pomegranates are but a breath away.)

The most substantial and terribly affecting of such events included an odd trend that emerged, beginning with my dear friend Jeffrey Puhutski.

Exquisite. You look as stunning as ever. You exude such elegant strength and radiance. We should totally fancy it up at some fancily apropos venue in the near future. (as schedules allow) Be it an art gallery, a show or...whatever. I dunno. At the very least, it would rock to hang out once again, "fancy" attire or not. :P Your graceful lines are akin to those of a ballet dancer (ballet = hardcore) and or someone who's into various forms of yoga/pilates/...you just look healthy and strong and that makes me happy. You're long and lithe (i.e. your neck and your arms) aaand...your awesome trapezius muscles are always on display. Elegant sweeping lines abound... One can develop strong upper back muscles from massage and so on + you must have really strong hands/extensor/flexor muscles. Although it may seem like I'm babbling, :P I am just fascinated with the human body (as you may recall) and...yeah. Last night I was studying the origin and insertion points of various muscles (to strengthen my knowledge etc) and as I was drawing sternocleidomastoid muscles from various angles, I thought of you because..you once said that they were one of you favorite muscle groups. (they are one of my fav muscle groups as well) It's the longest one-word muscle name! :P

The injury to your Lateral malleolus looks pretty gnarly. Was your ankle joint compromised at all or is it just a superficial fracture? (by "superficial", I mean...something that won't cause problems ((such as permanent subluxation)) later on) Was there damage to any of the major soft tissue structures attached to the fibula (I think there are 6) that hold ones ankle in place? Man, I'm gratuitously talking in medical speak because of you. :P I have admiration of your a & p knowledge and I find massage to be very intriguing as well.

I hope that the healing process goes well and on the bright side, it could have been much worse because jumping out of cars and then falling on rocks is dangerous...!

I recently aquainted my left elbow to some concrete (due to some stealthy gravel on the basketball court) and...yeah. Bone bruises (however slight) are pretty lame, although your injury seems to be far more brutal than my little scrape. (my scrape looks kinda bad, but it's not anything to write home about) One day, I am going to request copies of various x-rays for "show and tell" purposes. :P

Take care,

Fabian

P.S. I don't know what to say about those tragic events which befell you in just a few short months. :/ I wish that I could impart a truly empathic and meaningful sentiment as thoughtful friends sometimes do, alas, I don't know what to say to potentially alleviate things... The thought of you being in and out of the hospital makes me feel bad. I wish I could DO something to help. For what it's worth, you are and always will be in my best thoughts. Positive energy is good. Had you not posted pictures of yourself, I would've felt much worse. Also, you touched upon adventures with your boy (I admire anyone who makes you happy) and that makes me feel better for you as well. :] And of course, sharing art is always awesome. I don't know if you are into traditional sculpting with blocks of clay, but I imagine that you have the ability to create incredible works because...you are a creative/passionate/multi-faceted woman and you already work with your hands + you have an extensive (and ever-growing) knowledge of anatomy and physiology... (as do I) Alex Grey is going to be here next month and when I found out, I thought of you.

It would ROCK to attend that dinner with you, alas, tickets are $200 per person. (+ I am currently bereft of money, but I will fix that soon) Anyway, things will get better for you. You are a strong person and the healing process will make you stronger. I'm so very sorry for your losses.

P.P.S. You are an ever-amazing human being and you are dearly missed.
