As ever, I'm woefully behind on my tv. haven't watched any of Desperate Romantics. Have only just finished ep 5 of True Blood. Still haven't watched the last ep of The Middleman (please don't hit me, taraljc). Have yet to d/l The Street. (for those outside the UK, this comes under worthy tv that you feel guilty for not watching since the calibre of actors is stupendous). Still only on S4 of The Wire - and will probs be lost when I pick it up again due to having had a month break from it.
Decided to spend yesterday's sunbathing session going through as many tabs of firefox as possible (and yes, some of these are 2 months old). Decided to go through the vid ones. Some funny, some 'eh'. And in there, I found a page that had d/l links for most of Karl Urban's films and all his Herc/Xena eps. Considering I have never watched Herc or Xena aside from five minutes of one Xena ep where Gabrielle was on drugs, and have consumed shameful amounts of Cupid and Ares/Joxer fic, I thought 'what the hell, eyecandy and all my mates describe it as turn off the brain fun. With added shirtless Karl Urban!'. So. Green-Eyed Monster, aka the Cupid and Psyche ep.
OMG my brain. MY EYES. Really. I'm willing to give the aging cgi a pass, but the fight scenes. AUGH. MY EYES. Script rather funny. Aphrodite and Salmoneus, excuse me while I make the 'squee' of 'eee! New characters of awesome!' However. Script writers, could you please have spent a bit more time on ... establishing Psyche and Cupid liking each other aside from 'oh, it turns out he's a nice-ish guy after all, right, all set to marry him even though our total interaction so far has been him going 'sorry, can't let you go from this tower I kidnapped you to'? And this was *before* anything was said about her being made immortal. Talk about your damp squib, since Psyche was established as quite an interesting character with defined reasons for not wanting most of the blokes chasing her - and suddenly she's willing to snog the face off someone who's not actually made any effort to get to know her aside from him being pretty? Also. Someone tell me Cupid normally has a bit more character than that? Seriously, this ep made it look like he didn't have a decent acting bone in his body. Do we put it down to youth, script or direction?
