In other news? Further adventures of our landlord is a fuckwit. We're all moving out. For definite. Only one of us has actually confirmed this with the landlord, though. So, picture this, if you will.
He's already started advertising the flat to new tenants. As a whole, not room by room as it was previously.
And has he told any of us he'd be doing this?
Nope. nada. nuh-uh. I'd had a call from him - at least I presume it was him, since he's the only person I know who calls me and comes up as 'Anonymous' at 3pm when I was in a meeting. No attempt to contact anyone else.
We found this out when I'd been home ten minutes, and Anna was making noises about going out soon. Knock on door, buncha students there to see flat. Us : '....Huh?' Let them in, though, showed 'em round, gave full truth about the place and area. When they left, I phoned him, left message that was quite polite. But pointed out that at the very least it was irresponsible to be advertising a place when you hadn't even ascertained that anyone would be in (he doesn't live in London), didn't tell us you were doing this, and that it is not our job to do it. Wish I'd remembered to also point out that we're not legally obliged to let 'em in. Nor is he allowed to let anyone view it without our consent before the contract's up.
Seriously. Fuckwit.
ETA : it turns out that it was the letting agent who did this - Rachid literally just called me to say he was going to be arranging viewings and when would be good for us. Informed him that he better damn well chew the letting agent a new one.
