More good news

Well, my boss asked me to stay late this morning so he could talk to me. So I sat around for the extra hour for him to arrive in the morning. He wanted to know whether I wanted to work the weekend next week, for not only are we closed on Monday and Tuesday, as we have been lately, but we're closed for Sunday, too. This leaves me with two shifts next week. For those who don't know, I've been going back onto the weekday midnight shifts, for several reasons, and was thinking of staying there for a while. One of the main reasons I was considering this action is because the hours are more steady. Bigger paychecks are good when the cost of living doubles. Since I'm looking at living here by myself, and thus far no real solutions have materialized for this, I've been in mild concern for my financial state. I'm still hoping for a temporary roommate situation, though it will drive me crazy, in all likelihood. Whatever. Rent is important.
Anyway, not only am I getting cut this week, but though I thought that being closed for renovations Mondays and Tuesdays was a temporary situation, it seems that it doesn't look like we'll be reopening on those nights. Like, ever. Oh, good, you mean my income has just been cut to 3/5 ... wonderful. Can I tell you how much I need this right now.
He wants me to work weekend mids to make up the extra shifts. Oh, yes, please... even more what I need. to completely devastate my social life. I don't need friends, or the opportunity to go out and learn how to be socially functional again... no, I'm Anne... I'll work mids and that will be my social life... Bite Me. Or at least shoot me first.
*Sigh* ... well, I'm sure I'll manage, somehow... luckily, I have some savings, so I'm not in any real danger, but I don't really want to be moving backwards on anything (else) right now, including financially. arg. grr. scream and cry.

Before I forget, though, thank you to Dungeonbeast and Variance for inviting me for dinner last night. The food was wonderful, I am offically impressed. The company was pleasant and well-timed. It was very much appreciated.
