Dude I can't believe you would use a natural disaster that has hurt so many people for partisan politics. I find it utterly despicable to watch the liberals exploit the emotion from this tragedy in their political agenda. Nothing the Bush administration could have done would have changed the outcome of this disaster. Yes, you can play wih small numbers like the deployment of national guard forces a few hours earlier, but that is really it. Nothing could have been done that would have substantially change the outcome of the immense hurricane that ravaged that region. I have heard so many liberals talk about the Kyoto Protocol and how the denial of that protocol somehow contributed to this tragedy. If you would like to discuss the validity of that statement by the liberals please visit http://www2.techcentralstation.com... )

dude thats ridiculous... FIRST:its a simple fact that Bush did not take the precautions necessary to atleast take some of the edge off of this disaster. SECOND: Oh no, because bush and his conservative right have never used any disasters to help them reach their political goals... *cough*sept11*cough**cough*. Yeah game over, thanks for playing. THIRD: Don't post anonymous you slut bag... its for wimps... if you have an opinion stand up and declare it... don't hide it behind some internet post... maybe John knows who you are... but the rest of us don't. Yeah. Peace. Gabe

Sorry Gabe, it's Eli Melanson. And I feel your loss man I had a friend/acquaintance lose a life in this thing. and I wasn't hiding I thought I put my name on the bottom. Apparently Bush did want all these people to die you're right. He simply wanted black people to die. Actually in retrospect, I bet a lot of conservatives on the right were glad September 11'th happened so we could kill people. At least look at it like Sam did man. I wasn't meaning to offend you and I'm sorry if I did. I wish I could retract my whole discussion if possible. Peace to you as well man.

I am pretty sure that he just has forgot his password, because he hasn't updated in years... but maybe not.
Despite the fact that Bush blatantly used 9/11 to get us into Iraq, i don't think that he is really using this one to his advantage, if a Bush friendly company got some kind of clean up contract, that is to be expected. If Kerry had won the election, rest assured some one who helped pay for his add campaign would be getting it.
I think Bush did an okay job with this. I know people who got hard by this, but they just decided to stay there because they are morons. Really, if you ever met them, you would laugh. Anyway, the fact that that place got flooded is not Bushes fault, and there is no way that relocating that many people is going to be going perfectly. I don't think Kerry could be doing any better.

My point wasnt saying bush used this issue... it was in response to eli's claim that john was usign a disaster (alogn with the rest of the liberals) for political gain

You are right I shouldn't have focused on the liberals. Anyone looking to exploit is what it should have read, but hindsight is only 20/20. It was kind of hyprocritical on my part I admit, which was a mistake. I was only trying to say that they should be helped anyway possible, hence my final words. I guess I was partly hindered by my own reflexes to defend personal political preferences.

But then again the poor black minority of New Orleans did not vote for Bush, even though that is somewhat irrelevant to the current situation.
I think Bush didn't do a very good job with this situation, but I agree that the situation was going to be a disaster no matter what.
But no it is not Bush's fault.
Also, most people are full of shit most of the time.
And.
Most people don't know shit about politics.
My brother got all his crap drowned in New Orleans, and now has nothing.

Yeah.
