*2.5; Action; Locked to Hungary

[Russia would have liked to just empty the minibar and wait for the morning like that, or whenever he got out of here. But after realizing that he wasn't alone, and that the other person was not only a woman but also the partner of another empire and also Hungary, he decided to only get a few shots of something strong for now and then grab some of ( Read more... )

[The overpowering scent of flowers is terribly familiar, and so is the red decor and furnishing. Hungary wrinkles her nose before she checks down quickly--and to her relief she's not dressed in lingerie this time.

The revealing dress is not much better, unfortunately.]

If you touch me I'm going to break your arm.

good thing he had already set down the glasses when she spoke.]

That would be very wrong, yes? [He sounds surprised, how could she even think he would - slightly offended, too, and a bit questioningly, like a child that is presented with a concept differently to what it thought to be possible.

After all she is another man's ...partner? Wife? ...With another man. Of course he knows that that is no hindrance to many, but he just thinks that as a nation, he cannot do what his nobility does so freely, can he? His big sis said that he had to be a reputable man when he grew up, and he takes this to heart. He will not touch someone who is currently someone else's. Things like that can change, of course, like with Lithuania. Even though he is still unsure about what exactly there was between Poland and his man.]

[He sounds... Different. That's the first thing Hungary pays attention to and notices. They've talked only a handful of times ever since Russia's reappearance in Mayfield for to have paid significant attention. She leaves the bed quickly, giving the window a solid thumb just to check if they're really trapped--like before, before turning around to level a glare at Russia, arms knotted over her chest.]

Glad we agree, then. [And as she explains she studies his younger face, and more importantly, the vastly different body language. It's hard to let go of decades of hostility towards him, but she tries.]

You don't remember, then. Last time this happened you were trapped with your sister, and I with-- that loud idiot. We can't get out for a while.

[He cocks his head lightly at that news. His sister is always a bit clingy, but at the point that he is from she is not yet at the point where she is all about marrying him, so he actually considers that a convenient thing - nobody will look at him in suspicion for being alone in a room with one of his territories, even less when said territory is his sister.]

You are talking about Prussia, yes? [He pulls out a chair for her, standing next to her while waiting for her to sit down.]

[She sits, finally, if warily, noting the gesture as an afterthought. Hungary's hand rests on the table between her and the glass. What if they'd decided to put something in that, this time?]

Yes, him. They've droned him for good this time. It was only a matter of time. It happened to you too, as well, you know.

It's precious, that is what it is. |D burnmycapital September 3 2011, 21:04:21 UTC
[He walks around the table and sits down on the other chair, toying with the glass of wine in his hands like a nervous schoolboy on his first date.

That is actually kind of true, only that it totally isn't. The reason for his nervosity is more the same that befalls him every time that a certain type of noble lady is alone with him. It makes him nervous, he isn't sure how to act, and after some of the things that Catherine pulled, it is a bit scary to anticipate what the woman will do. It will get better as things get on, but right now he is definitely insecure.]

Does it happen to everyone here?

[At first, Hungary is too wrapped up in her own bad mood to notice Russia's nervousness and awkward behavior. Her eyes settle gloomily on the wine, before choosing to sip from her glass all the same.]

Every once in a while. It happens more frequently to some than others, and worse to some of us. Normally it's no longer than a day, but the worst case are always longer.

Then I will just have to not leave again, yes? So big sis and the others will not be sad.

She's always been nice, miss Ukraine. She doesn't deserve to go through that again. I was sad myself with Austria was droned for such a terribly long time.

What year is it for you?

It is 1812 back home, yes?

Ah. It makes sense now. [Russia's well meaning politeness, his aura of awkwardness, and his ignorance of certain happenings. He has yet to become the superpower from her turbulent decades. After a moment of letting that realization sink in, Hungary reaches for her wine once more and downs the rest of it in one gulp.]

You must be so confused. We're all from different times here. You're much older as I remember you in 1956.

I was already told that I will also become a lot stronger in the future, it is very exciting, yes? [Pleasant little small talk, this seems to be going really well.] I'm sure you and Austria will move in with me in the not too distant future, too.

Oh... [It's a good thing Hungary's started drinking, reaching to refill her glass herself, otherwise the alternative to giving Russia an earful would be quite tempting. It's not his fault (yet), she reminds herself, only to forget once she hears some more.]

Austria will never live with you. I wasn't as fortunate.

Ah, but we can never know what the future brings, yes?

[He tips against the brim of his glass thoughtfully while looking at her.] If that is the case where you're from, do not worry about the real point of time. If you are in trouble, you can always ask me for help even like this.

You've "helped" me plenty. [Her voice is flat, but at the same time, she's tired of hostility. Looking up from her glass, she tries to will the tension away.]

But help? Even in a place like this?

We need to stick together here just as much as we need to stick together back home, yes?
