The falling breath, like a heavy sigh

Apr 10, 2012 17:56

You're a broken stitch, you can no longer keep me warm inside
Working so hard to solve it, to find an antidote,
looked empty at those who fell before you,
blinding your eyes to what culled them,
blinding your eyes to the cure.

What's that noise up the stairs?
The falling breath, like a heavy sigh
Steeped in sadness while we watch you sleep
Rest in peace

My word is as thick as your blood
With a blue face, gasping for air,
Only to turn (red) and steal my years away.
A clause hardly mentioned

From the furthest of the river grows
From the tethers of my deepest hope
Where you figure out your own, your only fault
Sitting at the sinner's table.

Foolishness they said
but I know that it will all be back
heaving pails of rain covered up by colored stains
on jetsam cold and splintered

nose pressed up to the globe
wonder where i'll turn up next
where the air will pull decline, and fortify, my cause
but I can hardly leave the room

bed
shows the shapes of life
oh, how you hold me
quiet
I nearly forfeit
breathe on my neck
quickly
stealing my hues
i have no habitat
corner
still moving through
too soon for it to spread

one new key
will you wait for me?
She stashed the set
Only let me know
Where the cracks that you threw
stole my summer

Then I was wrong.

Only demons steal my blood
mistaking aches for love
drinking the poison of desire
with smiles and cheers,
congratulations,
pretending you knew all along

leper legs that get removed
leaving rope burns running through
a short list of confessions
settle less when we improve
