Natasha/Clint fluff, one of three Fics where me friend Courtney wrote the basis during English Literature. Basically this is after the Avengers defeat Loki, and Tony falls back down from the sky. Not canon placement, as Hawkeye and 'Tasha are on a backstreet. Also, I don't think this is canon heights, as I'm sure Natasha is taller that Barton, so yeah... Enjoy!
Natasha pulled herself out from under the body of one of the Chitauri, wincing as she put too much pressure on her sprained ankle, she checked around her for any more of that impending doom shit, relaxing slightly once she'd satisfied herself that no-one was going to rip her limbs off.
She noticed a flicker of movement from the corner of her eye, turning her head to see what it was. Clint was forcing his way through a half melted door, and from what she could hear, he was muttering;
'Fucking Aliens, why earth? I was going to have a nice, relaxing week! But no, they have to invade!'
Natasha sniggered, watching as he picked hi way through the debris towards her, ceasing his muttering, and looking up, shooting an adorable grin at her.
She smiles back, a soft, warm smile, that could light up a room.
She watched him, smile slipping from her face as his eyes hardened.
'Tasha...'
He murmured before firing an arrow within a hairs breadth of her own head. She spun round to see what he had shot, her eyes landing on one of the Chitauri, lying bleeding on the ground. She shudder when she saw how close it had been to killing her.
She stiffened and flinched when a strong arm wrapped around her waist, relaxing when she realised it was Clint.
'He would have killed me...'
'But I killed him first.'
She smiled to herself, spinning to face him, stretching up on her toes to kiss him once, grinning as she heard Tony and Steve bicker on their way over to the pair.
'Jesus, they couldn't be more married if they were actually married!'
Clint smiled, hugging her tightly, thinking of just how close he was to loosing her.
'I love you 'Tasha'
He muttered in her ear.
She smiled and a soft, feather light giggle slipped from her lips.
'I love you too!'
Tony scoffed as he heard them,
'Cliché guys, so, about this bar!'
Natasha just grinned, flipping him off happily. They'd just saved the world, Jesus! Clint laugh shook his whole body as she leaned against his side. Natasha Romanoff does smile! Just not a lot, and for her to smile like this, and be happy to the core, well, that was very rare indeed.
