Okay! Decided i should finally stop being lazy! Many things have been happening these days, but it's just so much i tell myself i'm going to post i'm going to post but i end up not posting and so now i've forgotton everything -.-
Sometimes i really doubt the capacity of my brain -.-
Anyway! i think i remember the renci charity hotline thing most! It was so so so so so much fun! We just had calls that kept coming in non stop, and before be could transfer all the details onto the donation audit form another call comes ringing~~ It was just hours and hours of adrenaline rush! It went something like this:
"Hi, good evening, thank you for calling ren ci charity hotline. This is shi yan speaking, how may i address you?" and then the whole thing continues with their full name, nric, contact no, amount donating, mode of payment (I LOVED TAKING DOWN ALL THE CREDIT CARD NO. HAHA--it was the least tedious compared to telling them what they should include behind the cheque if they wanted to address it to renci), address etc. It became such a routine that i didn't even have to look at the guidelines and could remember all the info i needed to extort from them HAHA. this experience is something that i figure i'll never forget. Talking to people from all over the country on the phone, people from juring east and tampines, donations from $30 to $500 (this other person received a $10,000 donation call D: ) It was certainly a test of our abilities to think on our feet, to make sure we don't say anything wrong, to copy down the right information and details, to speak CHINESE when the time comes (this woman spoke to me in hokkien :O).
The most heartwarming thing was of course, getting to interact with all these kind and generous people in society, making me realise how generous singaporeans are. the most calls i received was from jurong west/east, and no, these people don't live in landed properties, most of the donations came from people who lived in HDBs. but the amounts they were willing to fork out was just ... i dunno how to put it.
Well i think the thing i did best was to thank them so much at the end of the calls. I was like "thank you so much! thank you thank you!" hahaha. there was even this call that my aunt picked up with the woman saying "don't need to thank me, your job is to pick up the next call and the subsequent calls, hurry up hang up the phone" HAHAHAHA :D oh my so touching right! ((: It was such a heartwarming experience <3
okay i think that's all i'd be posting for now. many other things happened throughout these two weeks, but i can't seem to remember -.- I'm currently starvinggggggg--LUNCH!!
