A wish to hitch a Star to..or a rope. Looking at Body modification #1
Can I just start by saying that no-one should be worried at this?
I'm not going emo and cutting myself with razors. Read, and be Educated about that of which i speak. :D
What I -have- been looking at (with interest, and morbid interest for some things) Is the interesting forms of body modification humanity has (Re?)Discovered, and I'm not talking Corsets here, unless you mean corset piercing.. People write interesting LJ entries all the time, so why not me? You all know i highly dislike the 'norm' that seems to be trying to infiltrate my happy little Life Less Ordinary, so here's some things I'm finding fascinating currently. I'd probably shy away from actually undergoing most of them myself, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to if i could do-it pain free..
Today, Surface Piercing. Start you all off all nice-like. ;)
In my opinion, it's the next step in piercing. Little girls get their ears pierced, no-one comments. Teenage girls get their tongue pierced, or their belly button, or their labret.. No problem. Indian women culturally pierce their noses. That's fine, So why is surface piercing so different? It's a little bit more surreal, a little bit more invasive, i suppose. But it can be beautiful if done properly, and there are some great examples out there, especially with the Corset piercing. Apparently you have to be really careful though, and get it done with Surface Bars, not rings alone, or they reject nastily. I'd have to think about it for a while if I wanted one, but currently, I see no reason for it other than whimsy, and my mother would go into a Coma with rage, I'm sure. >P

Summary:
Surface piercing= can be Cute, Sexy, and risky.
Would I do it?: Maybe. Looks interesting.
Infection Risk Factor?: Low-Med, depending on the type.
