W
ell, today turned out to be pretty awesome. Last night, I went to the Vampire: LARP, where Prince Cherel have organized a -huge- mission hunt of the strange creatures known as 'Gribbles' *cough* The night became 'interesting' (read 'a disaster') when someone (name withheld) decided it would be fun to throw a bag of eight molotovs at them. They exploded in a flameball, and six of us, (my Ana included) failed the Check and went into Rotshreck, fleeing for all they were worth. Things got interesting when 4 members of the Sabbat (oops, forgot to mention they'd decided to join in..) picked up us Rotshecker's and kept running! When the Gribbles went for a Rear ambush, the Sabbat had no qualms about using their Carmarilla pick-up as battering rams. *sigh* I'm glad I have 2 ranks in Fortitude..
Point of the Night? Mission Failed. Prince is Peeved, but Ana Lives, dispite going into obvious combat when she has -no- fighting capability whatsoever! Success for Alexcia!
Success comes at the cost of a Couple of Favors, one to the Sabbat for saving my ass, but we Ra.. I mean.. Cait.. I mean.. *cough* Gangrel Would have no problems dealing with that. *whistles*
In relation to the title, I did indeed go to the Chinese Lantern Festival. It was cool. I personally thought of it as "Erin-fest" for the most half. I hope she was able to go, as I imagine she would have enjoyed it muchly.
My brother and I went together at about 5-6pm, when it was still light, and relatively boring-looking. It's really not much to see lantern-wise, until the lights to out, when it becomes Awesome on a stick.. literally.
The food and craft stalls were nice though. I really felt like i was in an oriental market in the early evening, when i could barely walk to get anywhere, it was so crowded. But we had Pork Buns, and Bubble tea, and Dumplings, and Noodles.. it was all good.
They had people doing calligraphy there, writing whatever you wanted on some sort of paper for a donation. They even had Dragon dances, which were very nicely done, and got much applause.
I bought a nicely sealed package of Gunpowder Green tea from a Tea vendor ( I. -Love.- Tea. Almost as much as I love Coffee, but Coffee is mearly flavour, whereas with tea, my relationship is more refined and educated ) and he nicely gave me sealed sample of their Monkey-picked Oolong, Rose Black, and Jasmine varieties. I am a very lucky Sol indeed.
Some of the other varieties interested me, such as their Phoenix Oolong, which is apparently one of the finest Oolong varieties in the world. At ten dollars a package, I am not surprised. But, enough about the tea. There is more to relate ( o.o;)
The light grew dimmer as the sun went down, and Albert Park transformed into a fairyland of lights. With a stepladder and a flick-knife, Alexcia would have gone home with more than just tea, if you get my drift. Some of those lanterns were very well made indeed. I went into answering Riddles at a booth, (as you do,) and returned with junk-foody goodness. My brother was just as addicted, but he lacks my capacity for riddles, so took fifteen times longer to achieve the same result.. Ah well, Never mind. Eventually, it was time to go, and we bought paper lanterns and bamboo hats, and made our way to the ferry building, getting off on the other side just in time to see the Fireworks go off in Albert park.
I'm going to sleep now. Goodnight.
