stripes, photographs and tvs.

Been painting stripes... lots of stripes... tired of figurative work and needed a break. So stripes it is.

Not much freelance work right now so trying to keep on painting.

Met a great photographer yesterday. She is really good. I met her in Duane Reade photographing the super cheesy decked out xmas tree on display. Funny we talked about how my last name means xmas tree.... and she lives 2 blocks from me. She knows my friend Joey so that's how we were introduced in the drugstore. Then we spontaneously had sushi together. But on our way to have sushi we stopped at the junk store on 5th ave. I found this leather jacket I've been in search of for years... a trench-ish style in dark brown. Only $35 bucks! Oh writing on stripes, the photographer bought a striped scarf there.

She has these remarkable photographs of old tv sets... A good friend of mine (and another photographer) shot me nude sitting on top of a old TV in the middle of a gravel road in Vermont last month. I guess I have an affinity for old tvs now. In fact today I passed a old 80's tv that was tossed out on park place. In Feb people have to get cable boxes and more modern tv sets to get reception. No more bunny ears...so there will be a lot of sets on the curbs.

Funny how the world keeps showing one something over and over until you notice.

and what is it with me and photographers? It seems to be a trend. Friends, lovers, etc. Photographers surround me.

After dinner I ran into Eric on his way to the very same sushi spot. A few seconds later I ran into Scott. I love it when only good things and people appear out of the blue in front of you.
