Oh my god...
a recent article in NY times in regard to the renewal of the worst law in the history of the United States, Mr. Bush's sacred Patriot Act, noted how the proposed renewal of the act was thwarted by the Senate. I'm thankful that the leaders we elect in the Senate were intelligent enough to see the harm this causes to the American people and dumbfounded why the House of Representatives ok'd it in a previous vote (time to elect some intelligent people next election?). But the key of this article is the sum of everything wrong with the Bush administration. Not only does the president LIE (he noted that he would "uphold the law" to protect American citizens when he authorized ILLEGAL wiretaps on international calls) but he also played the lets-change-the-subject-to-Iraq game when asked too many questions.
Fuck Iraq... when is someone going to make this administration actually answer a goddamn question.
*sigh* I'm sick and annoyed. Not a good combination as one tries to go to bed. Thank God the government can't (well...legally they can't, but we saw what the president authorized) spy on me after Dec. 31.
Time to send a thank you letter to Hilary Clinton for saying, as Ronald Regan put it, "Just Say No" to this harmful Patriot Act. Maybe I'll metion a Presidental run as well?
PS - This is probably the ONLY time I'll envoke Ronald Regan. Make a note.
