The W-word.

I'm an ill-tempered git at the best of times, quick to anger and supplied with a very short fuse. There are certain things, though, that will chop off that fuse altogether and set off the whole dynamite cache like a Wile. E. Coyote cartoon. One such thing would be this book. It's kind of a perfect storm of "send Mordant into a steaming rage"-ness ( Read more... )

mother warrior..what utter garbage. I detest this current claptrap of calling any woman who does anything a warrior. yet these self same women would never dream of picking up a gun, a knife, or in any way learning the skills and mental conditioning to truly BE warriors. It's a sickening misuse of a very sacred calling. Can women be warriors. Of course, but it has nothing to do with gender. Warriorship is a matter of mindset, training, and strength of spirit. there is a ruthlessness inherent in it, a willingness to do what is [not right, not bad but] necessary in any situation at hand. To call people warriors becuase they've survived an illness, or because they have stood up for themselves, or left an abusive situation is to demean both the term itself and the worth of the persons involved. It sends me into quite a rage too.

i've walked the warrior's path this life and in many others. It's very difficult for me to not get angry when i see it misused as the woman you describe above does. For the record, it takes more than battle skills to make a warrior. Most of the people within heathenry who call themselves 'warriors' don't deserve the term.

This individual in particular... a D-list actress best known for infantile toilet humour, who's now made a cottage industry out of touting phoney "nutritional supplements" and other quack treatments that mess up autistic kids, wrecking the work of immunologists and re-introducing preventable diseases that kill babies and children so as to sell more books--calling herself, her sycophants and her dupes "warriors"? Gahhh.
