drabbles

So if finished the two drabbles I committed to in that meme last week. They were fun to write, if nothing else, but man I really don't know what went on here and they are completely unbeta-ed and basically just weird.

Drabble #1: for rosehiptea
Fandom: the hunger games
Rating: PG/PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Finnick/Annie
Warnings: Mockingjay spoilers like woah.
Notes: prompt was Finnick/Annie - telling the truth. Also, I listened to this song on repeat while I was writing so I recommend listening to it.

He’s not sure when they crossed the line between friends and lovers. He means everything he’s ever said to her, I love you I love you I love you, and it has always been that way. Maybe they never crossed the line, but walk along the edge. I love you.

She slides her mouth over his chest, trailing her worries along the lazy inches of skin. He lets her cut holes in his flesh with the sweetest of kisses. You will always be good enough.

He doesn’t have much time to tell her before he leaves District 13 for the Capitol. There’s not much for him to say. They cling to each other rather than cower, find strength in the contact of skin. He strokes her belly, caresses their child. Don’t worry, I’ll be back.

Drabble #2: for kitsuneasika
Fandom: history- founding fathers
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: John Adams, Thomas Jefferson
Warnings: none, other than Kate not actually knowing that much about either of these fellows so this is very much ~my interpretation~ of their relationship. NOT HISTORICAL FACT BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION.
Notes: prompt was the relationship between Thomas Jefferson and John Adams or Alexander Hamilton. I went with Adams, sorry Alex. This is supposed to be set when they were drafting the Declaration of Independence. And hafljadhsfjlasdh it's just so weird I can't decide if I like it but I hope you do.

John Adams has spent a disproportionate amount of time around and thinking about Thomas Jefferson, so it is mildly surprising that he hasn’t yet figured a definite opinion of the man.

Thomas Jefferson is so assured, so suave and so insufferably detached. John sees it on the floors of the Congress, where he wages wars on his opponents with words and gambles the future of the everyday person with careful sentences. His eyes glitter in the midst of debate. John still doesn’t have everything figured out but he knows he has never hated anyone quite so much in his life.

And in the late hours huddled around paper and ink, five men struggling to put a voice to the sentiments bubbling in the hearts of a people and a nation, it is the Virginian’s pen that pours out feelings, and something quiet at the back of John’s mind says they will remember you and they will remember him but most of all they will remember the words on this page, and for the first time in his life John Adams is content to be a cog in a machine.
