Happy BirthDOH
The previous weekend was great... went camping at Leo Carillo with my girl, hiking, barbecuing, surfing. I came back and slept like a baby all week.
Friday, my birthday, I woke up feeling great. I turned on my computer and heard:
TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP
The boot drive had a total mechanical failure. The boot drive with the latest versions of my documentaries, my accounting, my FINISHED tax return.
My most recent backup was January 31. *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk*
So I spent most of the weekend with a new drive, re-installing software and praying the data recovery people can give me my life back and it doesn't cost me a fortune.
The only thing that eased the pain were all the wonderful birthday wishes from my great friends. I can't really do any work at home until I get my files back, so... Ground Control!
