And yea, I have walked through the valley of the shadow of formalwear. I have seen the horror that is the baby blue tux, and the abomination that is the...the...Texan smocklike thing with the cowboy hat and little stringy tielike doodad. And I was afraid, yet I did press on, for how could I flee where a six-year-old fears not to tread?

Thank you, Robby! You're my hero!

Anyway, I couldn't stand to wear one of those boxy things that are like portable coffins, and somehow I couldn't make myself go near a bowtie or those weird shiny things you put around your waist. I ended up with something that looks vaguely like this...

...although the tie and vest are more muted blue-grey than plain grey. The beach and little girl were not included.

The guy told me it was for daytime, not evening, but I just don't care. It's formal, and it doesn't actually go against the rules Aphra gave us (unless I misunderstood them), and it throttled me less than the other ones. If anyone doesn't like it they can just not look at it. I'm not defensive, no....

It was yesterday, but it feels like an hour ago.

Now to put the crazy thing on.
