I have now met Jamie, and hes an interesting baby. Hes very placid and well-mannered, not prone to crying or bawling, but makes a series of interesting noises that are almost conversational. These include meeps, catlike pleased noises 'brrrrep?' huffing and a range of snorts. Jamie has recognisable expressions, especially a grin and a grizzle. Hes active, but not really able to move. He tries to push with his legs, but cant crawl or stand, naturally. His eyes track you, sometimes, and are a very hypnotically dark blue. Hes clearly very beautiful - all babies I am related to must be, obviously (matter of first principles) but he really is.
Most interestingly, Jamie likes being hugged IF you are standing up. Better yet, if you are walking. If hes gurning, pick him up and carry him around, and he calms down, makes odd noises, and sleeps. He breathes fast when asleep, as if trying to get his sleeping done in a hurry. Clearly this baby has a tight scedule of eating, sleeping, and various other bodily functions to get through. A baby in a hurry.
The hurry is interesting as he has no concept of any time other than now. I live in the past and the future, missing the present - Jamie has no such error yet.
In the now, workmen should be replacing my roof in my absence, the handler just emailed me that one of the cases I set in motion has been dealt with, and I face a placid afternoon. Good de-stress time.
