Its a quiet time in the mortgage selling world. Mostly as I am not taking new leads at the moment and so have little to do. Theres a decided lack of interest in houses it would seem - the great British public are again playing their 'lets wait and see if house prices fall and we really can afford a greet lush pad like in what we saw on the Grand Designs TV thing luv' game again.
No really they only need to fall by 75% and you are well away. Ho ho.
So a little very late updating is in order. On the 16th
OOPS client called in and hey presto 1 hour of time goes like that. Busy Busy. Just shows. Anyway, as I neglect my responsibilities and his finances (he he) heres the late update.
On the 16th of September Kensington (an excellent mortgage lender and jolly nice chaps too, see below) paid for me to spend a days sailing at the Isle of Wight. Like I said, jolly nice chaps. I used to sail several times a year in Scotland, and had forgotten how much I loved it. After a days salt spray, sunlight, wind, Fosters and nearly falling off the boat I had hair like an insane gollywog and a grin to match. Wonderful time, and I should have recorded it here before.
My fellow freebie-users (did I mention that Kensington are the business?) were an interesting mixture of IFAs mortgage specialists and one despised Packager. Think 12 mostly 40 to 50s men with 2 token wife/secretaries and you are there - but put them in a jolly bright waterproof and throw a bucket of salt water in their face and formality tends to vanish. Should try that in Church or Court some time.
On a more up to date note, see Chocy Jons earlier post. I am lunching in the Clifton Sausage on Sunday to celebrate my recent birthday. That rather freaked me out, so I am not saying the actual age. Its tough though when you realize you are no longer under 1/4 of a century old...
Not looking forward to that.
THe world is not round either...
Lets change the subject, shall we? I agree the weather is appalling.
And the final figures are in. In September I submitted 124% times the business submitted by my ex-partner, and 125% of my personal target. His target was more exacting, and he made 25.12% of it. I Gloat! Hear Me!
Now I am gritting teeth for October. I will be amazed if I beat him this month. But my remortgage progresses, soon with money to spend on leads and an office at home to work from the playing field will be more level. And then we will see what we will see.
Love to all and hope to see you at Clifton Sausage
