Neeeew York~!

For the National Art Honors Society field trip, yesterday me and about 50 other CHS kids went to New York, New York! It was AWESOMEEE! :D We left at about 9:30 AM and got there around 1 PM. We watched "The Office"(the american one - which is amazing) and I played Children of Mana some too n_n. I sat next to Angela the whole time, my gangsta asian. The first thing we did was go to the Metropolitan Art Museum(everyone had to go). It was really cool, actually. They had a big Egyptian exhibit with this HUUUUUGE open room set up with an excavated temple you could walk through. The other thing we checked out was the Medieval Arms & Armor exhibit... mwahahaha :D. We searched desperately for the Asian exhibits, but our mapreading skills are rather subpar and it escaped us before we had to leave. Jamie made us late cuz she haaaad to see this "Wall of Light" piece which was just a big panelled color scale which as Mike put it appropriately, "I could go to home depot and see that!" >_> (My group in the Museum was Jamie/Mike/Bryson.) We had to meet outside of the Met at 3, and a bunch of kids crowded around this ridiculously overpriced street vender with even more limited stock. I was like "Can I get an Apple Cinnamon pretzel?" "No." "...okay >_>" Yeah didn't like her. Thennnn we boarded the bus and got driven down to Rockafeller Center/Times Square. That was really cool... lots of lights, ungodly expensive stores, a whole city of cars that doesn't CARE if you're in the way, etc :D! We had free roam for about two hours, so I was part of a huge group with Angela, Justin Livi, Adrian, Katie, some kid I don't like, Chris, Liz, Brittany, Bryson... I think that was all. Myself and Bryson broke off first to go to TOYS R US IN TIMES SQUARE! HOLLLLY SHIT! THREE FLOORS OF TOYS! Yeah I bought legos. Then we went to Billabong and met this really cool girl Anna who was talking about bands with me, Justin, and Adrian... and I confirmed that I don't shop designer brands cuz they're FUCKING EXPENSIVE. Uhm... after that we had to rush to Bubba Gump's Shrimp. That place was pretty cool... a whole fancy restaurant devoted to Forrest Gump! I sat at a table with Bryson/Jamie/Mike/Brittany/kid I don't like :P.I got friiiied Shrimp and like some of everyone else's food cuz they're not fat like me :D! Yeah goood dinner. OH and the best part was someone told the waiter it was Chris's(currently 17) Birthday! So they got like the whole staff together and made him stand up in front of the restaurant and he was like LADIES AND GENTLEMEN CAN WE GET A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR CHRIS' SWEET SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY! and they did this ridiculous song oh man it was great. After they were done the guy whispered to Chris like "It's not really your birthday, is it?" "No :]" Yeah that was amazing. :D After that we had to go to Broadway, to the Imperial Theatre, to watch "High Fidelity." I hadn't read the book or seen the movie, and I had no idea what to expect. Buuuut in two words: Unbelievably good. It was put together so well and I had a great seat and everythings was so cool! I'm downloading the soundtrack ASAP. :] Play was over, we got on the bus, and went home. We watched "Inside Man" on the way home. I hadn't seen it before and didn't entirely understand it but it was good anyway n.n I alllmost fell asleep on the home stretch but didn't :] Angela drove me home. I didn't do anything of importance after that. The end n.n
