i am waiting for elena to come over so we can go to tracks and dance because it's the first friday and that's ladies night. it's a glbt club and i love it. i have to get up at the ass-crack of dawn tomorrow to get myself up to ft. collins so we can go do tour de fat and ride bicycles! so i did my usual "let folks know i'm in their town" and i will see hannah and katie and aaron was like "damn! i'm in utah! but next weekend i'll get blake to come down and you get katie to come down and we'll all hang out in denver!" and oooooooh man. ridiculous.
i went home last friday and spent the weekend at my parents. saturday night kelsey and i went to moe's bc nick's band was playing with the photo atlas and i love the photo atlas and i love nick, jason and jeff (not their band so much...or perhaps just the singer is awful). and my sister has grown up on the photo atlas bc i was like "yo. listen to these guys. they're awesome." and she did. so, as her first pretty legit show, it was a good one. we danced and afterwards i was like "well, jacki, jasmine, good to see you, we're going home." except alan (singer for photo atlas) was right there so i talked to him and i haven't ever but he recognized me from new west fest and other shows. so then we talked to mark (bassist) and then bill (guitar) and he introduced us to....dave? the drummer. may have been nick. i wish i could remember his name. the important part is that the drummer looks just like devon sawa circa slc punk and i love it. all of them invited me to their show that's tomorrow night so i will book it back down from foco to see them.
work was better this week than last. i had some really nice people and only a couple of cranky ones. plenty who told me i was amazing and one guy said i was his hero and that'd he'd tell my boss how fantastic i was in helping him. woo! the photo lab shifts are quiet thus far. i spent them researching grad schools and AIC is hella pricey and australia's grad school program is...one year where you pay to work on a project so it doesn't make sense to me. australia and new zealand. crossed off the list. then i looked up concordia university (in montreal) and fell in love with the program. it's exactly what i'm looking for/expect. AND! it's hella cheap. the international rate is $35000 for 3 years. oh yes. then i looked at other canadian schools and university of victoria over by vancouver also sounds lovely. so i think i'm moving to canada next summer.
