So Spanky says I need to write more reviews. [m]

but i'm only doing this right now b/c i'm constipated and bored, to be honest.

Collateral (2004) R- Michael Mann has a pretty damn good track record of making good movies...Manhunter (the first Hannibal the Cannibal movie), Last of the Mohicans, Ali, and the incomparable and beautifully shot Heat. i absolutely love Heat, as it is one of the best crime-action movies ever made on film. the other movies are alright, but Heat surpasses them all easily. So here we find him back on top of his game with yet another solid movie. It's more reminiscent of the movie Heat in places, but that's forgiveable as you get to see both Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx give some of their best performances of their careers (definitely Foxx's best role in a movie yet and he delves completely into his character of a rather timid and shy taxi cab driver who ends up becoming a hostage more or less for Tom Cruise's cold and calculating assassin). it's refreshing roles for both actors and helps out the basic plotline along tremendously. i'd have to give it an overridden cliche to end this review, but it honestly is a genuine thrill-ride throughout. one of the best crime-action movies of the past five years.

3.5*/5*. 8/10. 89/100.
