Gamers

The hubby is feelin a little down these days. Since Scott left and went back home, he has no friends. Nada.

Now anyone that knows Nick, knows he is NOT a social person. The fact he had anyone here he could and WOULD talk to is a big deal. Now he's gone. And apparently gone to cool gamer friends who get to go to Pancho's all the time and have Game Night once a week. Nick is a little jealous. Well, a lot jealous I think. He would give his left nut to have a gaggle of people come over once a week to play video games (RPG's that is), go to Shogun and drink sake, and whatever else game geeks do. You know how they like that hentai. I wish I could give him that. Not that I'm dripping with friends myself. I could stand a real live friend here and there. But I still feel bad for him nonetheless. I find myself actually talking to girls who I don't really know if I find out their husbands/boyfriends are gamers, hoping to make friends with them so Nick will have a friend too. Not that I would become friends with someone I didn't like solely for that purpose, but it definitely piques my interest if I obtain that little snippet of info.

I wish I got off on video games so I could share in that part of his life. I just plain don't. I buy him video games, I let him play Evercrack and Dark Age, I try to feign interest. I, er, they make me bloody bored and I fall asleep. They're like Xanax! I just can't do it Captain! And RPG's, online gaming, gaming mags, all of it are a HUGE part of who he is. I wish he had someone he could talk to about it, and have with him when he creams his jeans because some new special edition of Gameboy Advance is coming out that looks like the old school Nintendo controller. I mean, the boy saved and pinched pennies to go to E3. An electronics convention across the country for Christ's sake! That was his idea of a vacation. If that's not a certified Gamer, then I don't know what is.

And just to be a little bitchy: I hate that Scott, fat, lazy Scott, unemployed, living off of Mom and Dad Scott, bad breath Scott now has a whole band of merry men to hang out with to do all of that, and poor Nick has no one. That's okay though. Cuz I know one thing Nick's getting and Scott ain't. WOO HAA!

I'm almost willing to host a Gamers Night at my house myself, that's how bad it is. I don't like Nick unhappy or sad. Right now, I need Nick to be up, not down. He needs buddies and has no idea how to go about approaching them. I prolly shouldn't take so much of that burden on myself, but I am who I am, which makes that virtually impossible not to do. Ugh. Why can't I just like video games? It would make life a whole lot easier.
