as you can probably tell, i didn't have that much fun in florida. i mean, getting out of school and flying and going to another state that isn't indiana was awesome...but, there were A LOT of things that kind of overrid (overrode?) those good things. the main one being that nearly the entire robotics team hates me or thinks i'm annoying or just leaves me out of things. i understand that this is my first year on the team (and my only year) but there are plenty of new people and they don't get left out. all three of my roommates (alyss, lauren, katie) left me out of nearly all their conversations and anytime i tried to join in or start a conversation i was ignored or just responded to with short clipped answers. fun, fun, fun...NOT!! a lot of people did a lot of the same things all throughout the trip. steve was a big jerk about some things and our robot did HORRIBLE in competition. one thing after another went wrong and by the time we actually started doing good in our matches, it was too late to get anywhere in the top alliances. we ended up in 25th out of 47 teams, which isn't bad considering we were down in 38th at one point. some things that went wrong were:
1) a PWM cable (electronics wire) disconnected and we couldn't move the left side of the robot in reverse
2) our robot got knocked over about 15 seconds into the autonomous mode, putting us out of the rest of the match which was 1 min and 45 seconds
3) one of the right side chains on our wheels came off so we couldn't drive the right side at all
4) *on more than one occasion* we got allied with really crappy teams/robots and put against really good alliances

i'll bitch about this more later. i'm tired of being on here.
