The forest and the trees

I get so lost in what I'm doing that it's hard to have any perspective most of the time. I just remember, somewhere, that this is what I really, really want to be doing. Whether I get a job out of it or not is almost secondary.

I'm buoyed today by the realization that the paper that's due next Tuesday that I thought was supposed to be about thirty pages long only has to be "six to twelve".

I'll drink to that.
