LOVE ♥ - but jsyk the links at the comms weren't working for me. I had to use the Tumblr one. There was much fist shaking happening.

Anyway I just love the whoel idea of this. Just god, Moffat we as a fandom have come up with fifteen different ways to plausibly save her. TAKE ONE OF THEM AND RUN.

Yeah, I was using the real-text editor for the first time because of the number of times I needed to use italics, and it borked up the links. They're fixed now, just checked!

And, yes! Thank you, so do I! Hehehe, I can just imagine Moffat getting a pile of 20 different ways to save River with a sign in black Sharpie going, "DO IT. WE WROTE THE INSTRUCTIONS HOW."

I'm generally very against fix-its of the Library, but this is a truly marvelous, believable, lovely one, and I enjoyed it immensely. :D

This was the story I'd started before you posted your wonderful meta on the Library, but I did want to finish it. I figured River wouldn't just go along quietly, but once she realized how much the Doctor would be hurt, she would go along with it.

I think so as well, but I can honestly say that this is the first fix-it that I've seen presented realistically (actually, not true: there was a rather good one a while ago where he re-"knitted" her using some alien technology that was very, very good). I like that she's a little upset and worried and that she chooses to do this for him. The key, I think, is that you don't totally ignore the sonic screwdriver issue the way most people do--you acknowledge what he did with it, which let me develop the headcanon that he only did it because he knew he did it, and to let himself truly think she died and keep the timeline intact.

Oh, I remember that fic! That was a very good fic.

There was actually a scene I trimmed where the Doctor explained about the neural relay to River, but then it didn't pan out and I changed it to have him explain it to River, Amy and Rory off-screen at the end. I figured that this Doctor always has an escape plan, and so the neural relay is not just to preserve the timeline, but in case something went wrong, there would be a part of River that always lived on.

*laugh* Then again, the Doctor's an excellent way of getting rid of older Teselecta units. I figured the Doctor would challenge that they owe him anyhow since they now know fully well that River didn't kill the real Doctor and they had tortured her.
