Soo ive been doing all these movie blogs and I thought I might post about something else that i'm passionate about: jackets. MJ inspired Jackets.
So anything that can worn as a jacket, im interested. Coat, blazer, bolero, leather, velvet, denim, bring it onnn. I love pieces that are military inspired. This piccadilly jacket was definitely an investment and I get a whole lotta wear out of it, just with jeans, black pants, t-shirts, singlets, ANYTHING. One of my friends, infact
schalakid, noted that it reminds her of MJ outfits from the HIStory era:
On the other hand, more detailed military pieces also belong to my wardrobe, similar to the black one in this picture, but cropped:
I think I have to say that my collection is greatly influenced by Michael Jackson's style, as I do own a champagne coloured, almost silver, sequinned blazer, which is I usually wear with plain black pants/short and a plain black singlet, as the blazer already is very eye-catching:
I think there is something about stripes on a blazer, catches attention. I recently had an addition to my collection, sailor inspired (white and Navy veritcal stripes) with gold buttons and red velvet sleeve + collar detailing. I cannot walk down the shopping centre without people commenting on it. I love the chanel piece here, but the forever 21 piece also does justice:
So most of the above pieces as I said were influenced by MJ, mainly from the Victory era. A few of my other pieces were also inspired by him, maimly from the video-clips. SO from Thriller I got the red Leather jacket (or pleather in this case =P ) , and even wore it to Thrill The World 2009 event. Instantly emphasizes ur outfit, adds some colour and confidence:
Similarly I own a few pieces from the Bad Era, such as studded belts, boots and ofcourse leather jackets. Leather's expensive in Australia, so I asked dad when he was overseas to get me a black leather studded jacket. He got me one, with stud detailing on the small of the back (don't have a pic, but on the left here is the pic of the jacket, which I wore as part of a costume to an MJ tribute night). On the right is the new stussy pleather jacket (New Generation jacket), which is also a new addition to my collection. Its a crop jacket, with very tight sleeves, which would look amazing with a singlet or a plain white top adn jeans/pants/shorts. VERY cute ^.^ the boots are similar to this, but without the little buckle:
Also inspired by the BAD era is this Sunday Morning biker jacket by Alice in the Eve, however i wear mostly like a top rather than a jacket, as the material is soft and rouched, and the sleeves are tight, so its basically almost impossible to wear anything underneath. HOWEVER, this item is gorgeouss on, with the little frill at the bottom, it gives the biker jacket abit of a feminine touch:
NOW lets talk shoulderrsss! As we all know MJ had always emphasized his shuolders whether it be with epaulettes or with Balmain pieces. It's been in for over a year and this piece of fashion statement is nowhere close to disappearing! I think ANY wardrobe should have at least one piece of clothing with emphasized shoulders, I happen to have a few. Here's two of my pieces:
I have seen millions and millions of military jackets out there, but its said that there aren't many that have elaborate epaulette designs, especially with fringes. I managed to find one from a brand called Black Friday, which classify this as a Marching Band jacket. So I would really like to see some of those marching band jackets out there. So the one on the left with the fringe epaulettes is the one I own, and the one on the right is also a marching band inspired jacket, which is from Minty Meets Munt. I am hoping to get this piece as soon as it comes out, given the price is in my acceptable range =P :
phewww, there are so many more other pieces I would love to share with you, but I think i'll stop here, as this is getting ridiculously long. Hope this can inspire You to update your wardrobe to be more MJ inspired, not necessarily jackets though. ANYTHING! okaaii guys, over and out!
