What in the world can make us healthy?!
This past weekend has been filled with all of the craziness I can handle and more. I might have mentioned to some of you that I had lice a bit ago. Well guess what....I have it again! Ughhh. So aggravating! That's not at the top of my worry list at the moment though....
On Saturday my sister broke her left humerus (upper arm bone) completely in half. We are lucky it was only that...she could have been killed. She and her boyfriend were at Ohio Pyle around Cucumber Falls......at a particular area where swimming was probably a bad idea...... But many were still swimming there. She got in and a huge current dragged her under water (which, even as she struggled to get out of, pulled her down). The current slammed her into the corner of a large rock which snapped her upper arm in half. People were going after her to get her out of there..... and she realized something was wrong when she tried to move her arm up and only the part of her arm from her shoulder to the break went up. The rest of her arm kept floating like a rag doll's arm in the water. The break is so bad that with surgery there comes a risk of destroying a very important nerve in her arm. If this nerve is damaged she will no longer have use of her arm. Erica is left handed. Her left arm is very important to her...she's an artist (very talented I might add) and a writer.... and as you might have guessed..it would make a lot of other things hard to do. Because of said risk, a world renowned surgeon is apparently (so we were told) going to be performing her surgery. Thank goodness....(please wish her luck)! And as if it couldn't be ANY worse...Erica's job put her on part-time and took away her benefits recently because she called off when she had lice. Isn't it just GREAT that this happens just weeks after her demotion? Fuck them. They are tightwad assholes. I'm so pissed and scared for my sister. No insurance...a severe arm injury...what the hell is up with all of this crap? She's having the worst luck. She's in the hospital right now. She has her surgery tomorrow (the 8th of June '08) and wont get out until Tuesday I think. I know she's really scared..so those of you who know her...please give her a call next week or so and wish her well. If you need her number ask me..or just ask for my number..... I know she'd really like that.
On a more pleasant note I got to see my friend on Saturday after not seeing him for quite some time. It's always so nice to see him. he's a pretty old friend of mine and It's just always a treat to have him visit. I'm off work today because of my lice and I'm off on schedule tomorrow. I was supposed to be off on Tuesday but my manager made it so I could work today's hours on Tuesday. I'm happy for that. No can do with the missing too much work shtick. I went on a great walk in the woods today with Tom and his dog, Mikka (Who got mud all over my right boob, thanks so much -_-;;). Since I couldn't be at work I decided getting some exercise was a good idea...away from general public areas. I have also decided to start collecting different woodwind instruments. They have always been one of the top genres of instrument I have such admiration for. I think it's time to collect some of them. I am starting with some really simple and inexpensive types. :3 Well....I'm tired of Typing and I'm getting myself all stressed out with this heat; I'm going to to go relax. Thanks for reading! :3
