.a very new, strange world.

I'm back in New Orleans for fourth round. We're working with the American Red Cross, which may, in fact, be the most disorganized excuse for an organization I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Two more months. Then it starts all over again.

The old Camp Hope, where I stayed first round is gone. Nothing but rubble anymore. They demoed it some time ago, though no one really knows how long. Probably a month or so ago. Time marches on.

I still don't know my way around the city from where we live. I still get lost on the way to work. I'm hoping that, eventually, I'll know where everything is. I'm hoping that, eventually, I'll come to feel New Orleans as much as home as Murray ever did. I think I'm well on my way to that.

I'll be coming home the second week in December. Before that, I plan on going to California to see my aunt and uncle and cousins and to get to know the city. If I like it, I'm planning on moving out there to study. If I don't, who knows.

It still smells like flowers here. Still. Even in September the gladiolas are still in bloom.
