Apartments, Darien Lake, and Writing

Jordan, Dave and I finally got to look at more apartments. We found a couple of really nice ones that were fairly close to downtown, but we also want to get ahold of another place before we make a final decision. I'm so excited to move into a new place!
Unfortunately though, my application for Wegman's was rejected, despite how desperately they seem to need people, as evidenced by the signs outside their doors. Not to sound vain, but they are seriously missing out by not hiring me: I applied for the daycare program and the bakery. Kids love me, and I'm good at baking, so it's honestly their loss as well as mine. I'm going to apply to some places at the mall, and hopefully get a job before we move in. I can afford rent, but I need a job if I actually want any spending money at all.

I also went camping at Darien Lake on Friday and Saturday, with my Dad, Julia, and Julia's friend Caitlin. Overall it was a really fun time, because I love roller coasters and running around the park. The only downside was how bad the lines were on Saturday, and the unfortunate fact that I got a sunburn while waiting in said lines. Other than that, it was nice. I love sleeping in a tent, and sitting by the fire, and being surrounded by fresh air. Also got to ride some new water slides I'd never gone on before, so that was great. Since the park has come under new ownership, they've started a Circus show called Cirque Nouveau. If you get a chance to go to Darien Lake, GO SEE IT. It was amazing!

It's Jordan's birthday tomorrow, so yesterday Bri and I went shopping for him. Hopefully he likes what I got him! And as always, hanging out with Brianne was really fun.

Jordan and I are hoping to go see Batman on Friday, and I'm psyched for that too. Not only have I been excited to see Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker (poor Heath...), but I've heard that (very minor spoiler, maybe?) the Scarecrow makes an appearance as well, which of course makes me happy. And to clear up any misconceptions or what-have-you, you probably know by now that I like Cillian Murphy (a lot), but for the record, the Scarecrow has been my favorite Batman villain long before Batman Begins ever came out.

As far as writing goes, I'm working on a new project because Barrier Woods is still being difficult. I still haven't gotten over the writer's block for it, which really irritates me since things were going so well until last month. But at the same time I'm so full of ideas for this other story, I figure that maybe it's good idea to switch over for a little while. I just don't want to lose track of Barrier Woods though, I really want finish it, but I'm not even halfway done with it.
I'm in need of a serious critique; maybe that will help me get back on my feet. And I mean a real, honest critique, not just someone telling me that my story is "nice", or "cool" so that I don't feel bad. I -like- to know what I'm doing wrong, if anything, so that I can fix it, and I like to know what I'm doing well so that I can keep it up. Jordan's been helpful with that so far, but I feel like it would be a good idea to get another opinion as well.

Anyway, I'll try to update again later.
