Ah, the joys of motherhood.
So for a while I foolishly thought I had this motherhood thing down then the little bugger throws something new at me. Right now it a constant stream of snot from her left nostril and a fever that is giving me fits. I even let her sleep with me ( something I try absolutely not to do if I can help it). Fortunately she is scheduled next week to have tubes put in her ears and that supposedly will help prevent these illnesses in the future. I know its minor minor surgery but as she is my first and a little under a year old I am stressing out slightly, not to mention the fact that I've pulled out half of my hair trying to deal with Medicaid and the, " We'll cover it, We won't cover it, We'll cover it," routine.
Speaking of a little under a year, Eden is quickly approaching one year old! We of course are throwing a princess party in her honor. I thought I'd be all artsy and make the cake. I wanted to do a castle cake and holy cow there is a lot of info on castle cakes out there. They even make kits to help you, but the most popular, the Wilton Cake kit, after further research can be 15+ hours of work. That is not including making all your own little sugar flowers, I think I'll save that one for her 5th or 6th party so she'll remember all that work. I'll probably just do a cute, simple, layer cake to impress the in-laws.
