In Character Information
Name:  Winifred Burkle
Nickname[s]: Fred
Age: 25
Alignment: Good
Personality: Fred is exceptionally smart. While maybe not so much on the occult, she's a quick study and knows advanced physics, science and mathematics. A bit of a chatterbox, she doesn't know when her hypothesis ends and where idle chatter begins.

Unsurprisingly, she has amazing survival skills. Having escaped her 'masters', she managed to keep herself alive in the wilderness of Pylea for four years.  That's hard to do when she had no idea what plants would be poisonous or not and what animals she could try and trap for some protein.  She has an enormous willpower and an intense loyalty to those who she calls friends.  While it may not look like she's all that brave or strong, she can be surprising in both.

Having spent the past five years alone, she's used to talking to herself and not so used to talking with others. Things that may not be socially acceptable to say are no matter to her. For the most part, she just says what she thinks without much of a filter. Socially awkward, but as friendly as a puppy, she's eager and happy to please, but terribly unsure of herself in this new old world to her.

Also, she loves tacos.

Skills & Powers: Fred isn't supernatural, nor does she have an affinity with magic or physical prowess.  Her main asset is her brain - which, as previously stated - is large.  She can function at master level physics and is a quick study with math and other sciences as well.  She's a fast learner and remarkably good at keeping herself alive in the worst of circumstances.

Writing Sample

As Fred ran, dodging trees and over rocks, she didn't risk a glance back to see if whatever was chasing her had gained any ground.  If she could spare the breath, she'd curse herself for being stupid.  For four years, she'd managed to stay out of sight, out of danger, only to get careless while trying to get another handful of Kalla berries.  Now, whatever was chasing her was gaining.

Fred ducked underneath another branch and tried to double back to lose the creature in the undergrowth and then hide until she was sure it was gone.  Unfortunately, it was smart and saw right through her ruse.

A stone tripped the girl up and she tumbled to the ground into a heap and rolled a few times due to momentum.  She scrambled to pick herself back up and snatched a fallen branch to use as a weapon as she did so.  The sounds of it running after her had quieted, but she was too smart to fall for the trick.  It hadn't given up on her, it was stalking.  Well, she wouldn't give it the satisfaction.

"Now, you come on out you, you big ole mean whatever you are.  I'll knock you right into next Tuesday!  And you don't even have Tuesdays here, so that's how you know you're in big trouble!"

Fred turned one way and then the other, trying to make sure it couldn't creep behind her for a pounce.  Cowed, she added, in a much quieter tone of voice,

"'Course, if you want to stay right there, that's fine, too."  Swinging around, Fred let out a breath of air.  "Just be a nice predator and st---"  Unfortunately, the one place Fred hadn't kept an eye on were the trees.  The Drokken leapt from one of the branches and knocked the air out of her lungs once it threw her sideways.  Disoriented and still clutching onto her branch, she thought it must be oxygen deprivation when she crashed onto a table instead of the grass.

And was it her imagination or was someone singing Johnny Cash?
