The toys of Yule have lost their sparkle as we enter the grey behemoth we call February. It's a phenomena that happens every year as we naturally hibernate, eschewing contact for hiding away from the despairing weather. A normal phenomena-although, perhaps occurrence is a better word for it. Is it really outstanding or unusual, what happens in this month? Cheap wine and candy hearts in attempts to bring a little pink into the grey disappear, swallowed by the overwhelming beast.
For myself, seeing as I have difficulty distinguishing color, February is a bit of a relief. Everything that I see is the same color that everyone else sees and for once, the world I inhabit seems...normal. February is something to embrace, to take a break away from the animals to devote myself nearly entirely to my automaton, despite the setbacks that have appeared. Ah well. The world's gloom fades in my bright little workshop.
Perhaps February isn't as disappointing as it threatens.
