Guess what I did yesterday...

That is quite possibly the most unoriginal subject heading I have ever written on here, but I don't care right now...so therefore...

Guess what I did yesterday!

Nevermind, this is getting old...I will just tell you.

I turned 19!

Isn't that exciting?! Well, not really. I've never been one for birthdays. Another year older, and most likely, no more the wiser.
Actually, that's not true, I know a lot more now than I did at my last birthday, like, you know you have a cool best friend when she hates seafood, but will eat fish for you, and she actually LIKES calamari until someone tells her it's squid, and then she very easily makes the connection thanks to the mass of little twisted tentacles. But, I digress...

What's the big deal with birthday's anyway?! I don't get it. In truth, I like other people's, and I like that it's a chance to get together and hang out with you friends and family, but it doesn't seem like such a huge thing to be young, or to be getting older. Age is just a number anyway, and in the long run of most things where you think it matters, it doesn't.

If I told most anyone how old I actually feel most days, no one would believe me, and then there would be the constant contradictions when how I old I feel changes. Like, maybe today when I was running all over the place doing mindless errands, I felt 32, and tomorrow, when I just may freak out over something stupid, I might feel 16. Age is relative, and relativity is too big of a topic to get into right now.

On a last little note about that stuff, Dyana sent me the nicest birthday card I think I have ever received. She's ten years older than me, and she talked about how she used to think of me as her little sister, and now I am much more like her equal with the way I handle things. It definitely feels nice to be appreciated.

Has anyone noticed yet that I am rambling more so than usual on topics, or a topic for that matter, that are completely devoid of any real significance?
Well, that's because it's Thursday evening, just shy of 8 o'clock, and I am enjoying a nice alcohol buzz. My defense of drinking all by myself in a big empty house is just that, I am totally enjoying the fact that I have the house all to myself. No friends dropping in, no weird weekend roommates...all alone, and loving it! The other defense would be that I got this really cool personalized martini glass for my birthday, and I thought I would break it in. Yay for super cocktails in new glassware!

I was just listening to "Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)". I love that song! I love Marvin Gaye! He rules! Cody can back me up on that because I can't hear "Let's Get It On" without thinking of high school, and the senior parking lot, the dean, and Lynsey's new Mustang...I think that's how that story went, but I could be wrong, the vodka is beginning to cloud my memory!

Amy has informed me that "Inner City Blues" was recently covered by John Mayer, one of my favorite artists. I love John Mayer. And like I said before, I love that song and Marvin Gaye, but I just don't see those ingredients mixing together and making something immediately palatable. Hmmm, this could be interesting.

Okay, so I just checked out John Mayer's new live CD, which contains the live cover of the aforementioned great song. Although I'll have to wait until that CD comes out to be able to see how Mayer does on singing such a classic, but I can say now that the man does have very good taste...Marvin Gaye songs, a signature Martin acoustic, Hokusai-esque art on the CD cover...I applaud. If all men had taste that was that good, I don't think I would have so much trouble finding an agreeable gentleman!

Shit...I wrote a lot! I guess I can type really fast with lots of alcohol in my bloodstream too!
