WOW, it's been a long time.

I've been thinking of excuses as to the reason why I rarely LJ anymore. Because surely there's a good excuse, right? Things like: my lion has gotten too big to keep in the house so I've been spending more time with him at the park. Or: My hot air balloon has just been faaaar too much fun to keep me in front of my computer. Or even better: I've been taking french cuisine classes and the lessons AND the food have been too decadent to even compare with sitting in front of a computer.

But unfortunately, none of those are true.

Truth is, facebook and ravelry have stolen my time away. Plain and simple. Yoville, Country Life, Fishville, intermittent personal posting as well as posting on others' posts on facebook. It's like a disease. I post some witty, charming post then someone posts on my post then I must reply to their post then someone else replies to their post... it's insidious.

Ravelry has a whole other list of time suckers. As you 2 readers know, I'm a knitter. Ravelry is this wondrous almost Willy Wonka like world of knitting. Each member can post the name and pattern of their current (or past) project and it links to everyone else who's ever knitted that same project. So, you can see what yarn/colors they've used, how it turned out and if you want to continue or do something different. Which makes it easy to search patterns or types of projects to see what's out there and what everyone else has done to either improve or botch that pattern. It's truly an amazing wonder of the internet world. Especially for us ubergeek knitters (or crocheters).

So, these two sites partnered with my new relationship is REALLY what's kept me from posting on LJ. (Well, besides the stalker from years past who I'm no longer concerned with.)

This is a precursor for a post I actually posted in the notes section of FB a few days ago. It was so heartfelt and sappy that I really felt like I needed to post it here for posterity's sake. But, now that I've made THIS post (and will, in moments, post the FB post), I think it's about time that I re-establish my identity on LJ and take the reigns and start anew here.

I say this with a few drinks in me after a lovely meal so we'll see how it proceeds in the coming weeks/months.

new relationship, ravelry, new post, rarely, re-establish, facebook
