kiss me deadly

Contrary to what canaryblack says, I'm neither cute nor cool though I can be quite nice.

Anyway, guess how many books I need for honors history? Go on, guess, I'll wait...

Give up? SIX! I need S-I-X books! Six books. SIX BOOKS!!! So, I need about another $200 worth of books which I'll have to borrow from granny and get the books tomorrow because I have reading assignments in both classes. Sigh.

The polisci class I KNOW I will love, no doubt. From the minute the guy started speaking I was drooling at the thought of reading the textbook. I'm a social science nerd. History seems interesting, despite the 6 books. We have 3 tests consisting of essay questions and identification questions (she gives us a name and we have to define it in a paragraph) and 2 essays 5-7 pages in length, plus we can do a 10 minute oral report and written essay for an extra credit of 5 points. We have to chose a historical figure and I'd chose good ol' Ben Franklin (and believe me, he's pouting that I can't) but it needs to fit into the other stuff we're learning about. So, I'm going to chose Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku. Since we're learning about WWII and Admiral Yamamoto was really important to that war because it was his idea and plan to attack Pearl Harbor. After the Japanese Imperial Army successfully struck, the officers were cheering and Yamamoto told them, "I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." Even though Japan was our enemy at that time, he was really instrumental in history and WWII - without him, the US might not have ever been involved in the war. So, yeah. And I love extra credit.

As indicated earlier, I did meet canaryblack!! YAY! She's so cute and great and I love her!! I think I'm obnoxious and annoying and loud and brash and talkative.

And I MISSED MY GODDAMN BUS BY LIKE 25 SECONDS! It literally pulled away in front of me. What the fucking hell? I was so pissed off! It's, roughly, 28 million degress outside and I had to wait next to a rude "let me position my cigarette right in your face" guy who knew it was bothering me. I'm allergic to tobacco. If it's not a lot of smoke then I'm okay but this was a full flavor regular cigarette and my chest burned like mad and my throat kept wanting to shut. So, it was wait in the shaded bus stop next to Mr. Smoker OR wait in the 901 million degree sunshine. Pout. I went to pee to spare my lungs but had to use the.... Natural... Sciences building.... omg.... in order to get to the girl's bathroom, one must traverse the sea of math nerds, headbutt your way through the token sorority girls, go down to the rarely journeyed "lower level", past the collected garbage and the "danger! Laser room!" sign only to be treated to a poorly lit pee hole, littered with clumps of yellow toilet tissue and poo smears on the stalls (this does not happen accidentally!!) and a smell that was a mixture of windex, camel cigarettes, cat litter and dirty pampers.
Because the natural sciences building is the physics building there are boys all over the place and so, of course, there are 2 boy's bathrooms on the first floor. Hiding the girl's bathroom is just a subtle way of the boys asserting their math dominance over females. All right, we get it, generally, boys are better at math... and girls are better at EVERYTHING else. But there are some smart girlie math-nerds, like Kirin!

I took Laura with me to John's office but he wasn't there, so I left him a note calling him a loser. It was a secret ninja mission!! and we pulled it off flawlessly! Kathleen loved my hair and I saw Mrs. Florence and she SMILED at me for once in her life!! But that might've been because someone was with me and she wanted to give a good impression. Plus, she looked nice. Her hair was done and she was wearing a skirt and makeup!! She looked pretty. Maybe she changed over the summer! Summers can be magic!

I'm glad to be back home though, where I can pig out on sushi (which could've used a little more vinegar after all) and relax and stop sweating. Tomorrow it's back to Japanese!! Hooray!!!
