Well, I didn't have to go looking for Brigit after all. She stopped in to the shop the other day to see me. We had a nice conversation and she gave me some tips on trying to break down Giles' resistance to me and my proposition. He did seem rather pleased when I complimented him on how fit he was for his age the other day while he was lifting a box for me.
Of course then Buffy had to come in and talk with him about patrolling with Spike and now he's back to being crabby again. I think he went home and had one too many drinks afterwards, because when he came in to the shop yesterday he was wearing jeans and one of his sweatshirts instead of his normal suit and tie. His hair was not as neatly combed as it usually is, either. One of our regular customers asked him a question about one of the reference books we sell and I heard him tell her he had no idea and to ask someone that cares. I would've taken him aside but I had to calm Mrs Higinbottham down and help her select her merchandise.
And is Giles smoking? I could swear I smelled tobacco on him when I was trying to tell him later on that if he's hungover he should wait until he's feeling better to come in and help out at the shop. As it was I ended up telling him that he's letting this Buffy having orgasms on a regular basis with Spike thing get to him too much and perhaps what he needs is to have a few himself, preferably with me of course. Now that I think about it, I almost think he's not as against the idea as he seemed to be before. He gave me a smile instead of his usual lens-wiping and somewhat uncomfortable blushing look.
