They found my car!!!!
All they could tell me was that the ingition is totally stripped and it's being towed. The tow company doesn't have it yet but I'm heading up to go look at it.

update: I couldn't get in to see the car as the lot was closed and I still haven't talked to anyone who has actually seen the car, but from the reports it's actually intact. Battery, Alternator and Transmission are there, which implies the rest of the engine is there, not wrecked and not vandalized. Stereo is missing but a friend of mine handed me one he's had lying around so that works too, just have to find someone to install it.
Insurance guy is going over today, hopefully I'll know more, but initially it sounds like it's just the ignition. Still don't know if they got into the trunk.
They found it up at the mall in Escondido, which sounds like a good place to dump a car, but why 2 1/2 weeks later? That is a hell of a joy ride since it appears it wasn't stripped for parts. I can accept it's been at the mall a few days but doesn't security notice when a car is there overnight?
Anyway I'm going to call AAA again in about an hour and see what is up. May not be getting a new car this year, but not having a car payment is a 'happy thing' (tm)
