I'm back~! SInce the 12th, actually, but I postponed in posting. Pics won't be up today, either, unless I'm feeling really happy/bored later.
The trip was more pleasant than I can say. I've been to Perth on family trips before, and to Brisbane a couple of years ago, but I've never felt as those I've learnt/done so much. Only way I could have done this was to be put on a homestay programme in Narrogin, which was what's happened. I stayed with the Batts (should I be disclosing their names?) at their farm house near Boddington/Pinjarra, and their house isn't what I'd thought a farmhouse is. It's modern, and big, and really, really pretty.
What'd we done? Well, there was tennis (never played it before, and I actually whacked the ball at Marlee's head - without planning to, honest!), and sheepwork (rode in an ATV!), movie-watching (in their movie room on a projected screen), wandering around the Tullis bridge, dumpster driving (at Mr Batt's workplace - a Boxite (Bauxite) Mine), canoeing, a visit to someone's rose garden (and I fed mini-horses there ^.^). We'd tried to catch yabbies at their dam, but it's either that they're too full, or too smart to fall into the traps, or that some unexplained forces were helping us, 'cause I'd heard from my other schoolmates that they'd been bitten by the yabbies. Meh.
As for the kangaroos (bet you were thinking, Hurry up! Talk 'bout the kangas already! ), I've only seen two at the Boxite Mine while on the dumpster (driven by Jamie, whose wife is Stephanie. Thanks, mate!) and some more on the way to the Dryandra woodlands. Both instances were far away, and I only have pics of the mines' ones, hopping away. Dang.
I've got back a recipe for Pavlova (Palalola, according to Marlee and Emma) from Mrs. Batt, which I'll be attempting once my aunt hands over her electric beater. Has anyone done it yet, and if so, could you give me some tips?
More 'bout the Aussie trip later? (with the pics, definitely)
Ah, yes. Luts has sent in my KDF Litchi (lovely, lovely girl ^_^) in less than the stated time needed for manufacturing. Guess that the weather has been good, huh. She's really lovely (is this repeated?), more so than I'd thought. I'd expected her head and eyes to look slightly larger, but I guess I'll get used to it. I'm still eyes-hunting, even though I've got brown eyes for her, and luts have given me the silver acrylics that I'd asked for (but hey, I can't deal with having acrylics). The brown will probably go to her Renesmeee (of the botched-up Breaking Dawn fame) cosplay, when her reddish-brown wig comes in. (Pics of her will be in later. She isn't naked - no worry 'bout that - since I've draped an old skirt around her, like a loose robe. No face up yet, but I'll be sending her to
allemarthe this weekend. The KDF body stands well, though I haven't achieved one-legged stance yet. And perhaps I'll be getting her sueded, too. Perhaps, perhaps... when I've got the funds, that is. >.<)
And then there's the clothes, and the seamlines that I feel like sanding. Gotta fine time to do this all, and I've still got Amanoe to dye, and my crochet projects to finish, not to say school break work (and the Christmas pressies! and my tarot project!) . There's also her backstory to complete (the Australia trip has given me something to work on: Archaean), also Amanoe's (which I have only a slight idea on how to go about it). I'm thinking of collaborating with my friend,
chuo_ri to work out something. (Not that I've said anything to her yet.) She's a whirlwind at writing, and she's even got out a story for her yet-to-be-ordered SDF Dahlia. o.o
Now that I've written so much, I'm going to put up some of my drags.
Kagan and Kouri's new egg:
