'Kay. So I've been hearing through the great grapevine of the interwebs that 5th Gen is coming out.

...

I remain indifferent about it XD;;

I just do! I guess I can see why people are getting super excited about it because it is the next game that will be coming out and it won't be a side game either. But at the same time, I'm finding it absolutely silly that people are shitting themselves in happiness over it since it's only been announced and chances are, we aren't going to hear too much else about it, or the Pokemon for me rather, until later on/at TGS.

*shrugs* I mean, come on guys! This is Game Freak and Nintendo we're talking about! Of course they're going to continue on and make a fifth Gen. They're a cash-freaking-cow for Nintendo. Like fuck they'd actually stop at four generations of cute fuzzies that can destroy the world? *cue cocked eyebrow*

Eh, someone call me when they start releasing some species designs or something along those lines. I'm way more interested in the details rather than the announcements ^^;;

And oh dear God do you know what this means? April's Fools abound. And people will be excited and shitting bricks when they find out that they're fooled and everything and just UGH! Who needs crap like that anyways?

... To be honest though, I do have some hopes for new Pokemon that are in it, such as...

Lapras Pre-evolution- I do distinctly remember when DPP Pokemon were slowly being released at that year's TGS, and remember seeing a statement that what we now know as Shellos was a possible pre-evolution for Lapras. Didn't really think too much of it at the time, but dang it, I can see it now. Lapras is deserving of it's own Pre-evolution! She barely gets enough love as it is and omigod baby!Laplace would be so adorable <3

Dunsparce Evolution- If it had one and it was awesome, I'd totally go for it :D I've seen fan sites and sprites that have some really amazing design ideas for this guy, normally revolving around a kind of wyvern/two-legged large dragon. I'd go for it, totally. Make Dunsparce actually worth the Pokeball damnit! >O<

Goat-based Pokemon- GOATGOATGOATGOATGOATGOATGOATRAMGOATGOATGOAT. You know it would rock X3

Raptor-based Pokemon- Must be red. Must be scaly. Must have some form of feathers on it somewhere. Must be a fire-type. Must be freaking huge (or as tall as something like Arcanine). Must be epic enough for me to nickname it Dinobot XD *gets shot* Poffins for whoever gets the right reference! :D

Ice/Steel Combination- Okay, this is sorta biased. I once made a Fakemon for a contest on an RP board I solely ran because the admin was dicking around way too much about shit like graphics and ignored the actual game <.< modded on and I was pretty proud of it. Based off a snow leopard, it was a two-step evolution line with the 'Basic Pokemon' (DERPTCG terms but I don't know how to explain it better >.<) being a pure innocent little Ice type that eventually evolved into a fiercesome bitchy and bitchin' Ice/Steel combination that had icicle pikes and sharp metal blades covering most of it's body. It was a synthetic/man-made/modified Pokemon too, with an interface on it's forehead that connected to the hypothalamus in the brain to help regulate bodily systems in relation to the environment outside :D

...What? It was for a contest? Sure I thought all that stuff out XD;; I don't really care if they really use the idea of a snow leopard really, but I just think that anything with a combination of Ice/Steel would be really kickass ^^

MOAR FIRE PLZ!- Gawd this is so self-explanatory and I will hit you upside the head and shove a copy of DP ready to play in your hands if you do not understand this >.> I DON'T WANT NO MORE DAMN PLANTS OR FISH! I WANT FIRE DAMNIT! >O< *drunken fist meets table in rage*

NO MOAR TURTLES PLZ- I swear, Japan has some sort of ridiculous turtle fetish when you think about it <.< *huffs*

So what do you guys think would be awesome additions to an already extremely expansive Pokedex, mmm?

In other news, I watched the first bit of YGO 5Ds, since.... a while actually. o.O I only managed to watch the first third of the episode on Youtube before giving up. Maybe I shouldn't, since it's mostly revolved around Crow who is my favourite character on the show, but after poking around and seeing plenty of other opinions on the matter and realizing that it's an episode that essentially has fucked canon and doesn't care anymore... I don't really want to see the rest of it. X.X

Although my main beef with this episode was mostly over the fact that they are willing to fuck with Crow's deck.

I know the dueling with cards aspect is lost among many fans, it is to me too unless there's something awesome during it (references, crack, good plot conversations, etc.). But for me, messing around with Crow's deck is going to be the straw that broke the camel's back pretty soon. *sighs*

I like Crow, and I knew that from the moment I watched him. He was rather unique in comparison to a lot of the other characters at the time. He was tied to two main characters (Yuusei and Jakku) while not being distinctly part of their little "Signer Club."
He lived in the slums, while everyone else, at the time, was living it up in luxury in the form of clean beds and good food.
He's basically 5Ds version of Robin Hood, stealing cards (Oh yes, stealing cards *inward eye roll*) to give to his little precious pack of kidlets that he takes care of.
He has a face full of criminal markers. He's way more badass than Yuu will ever pretend to be XD
MCDONALDS *gets slapped* XD
MAJIN BUU *slapped again* XD

And in a plot where there are supposed to be five characters with dragon-body-part shaped markers on their body, wielding five specific special Dragon monsters, that are all supposed to SAVE DA WORLD via CARD GAMES ON MOTORBIKES...

He had none.
No special marking.
Not a single Dragon-type monster in his deck.
And he still saved the world. Helped mostly, there's not much you can do with a bike out of commission, and you lying in the middle of the light road with a single life point left, making all of your hopes ride on the INVINCIBLE YUUSEI~ [pauses for superhero dramatics]

He was so... refreshing. He began to feel like such a mainstay to the series (to me) after he found his friends. He had such a great purpose to fight for (his pack of little kidlets got eated by a mist XD). Honestly, the thought of him leaving never really once crossed my mind when the great battle with THE INVINCIBLE YUUSEI~ AND FRIENDS was over. I didn't actually really mind when he got Signer-fied and received a dragon mark, mostly because I knew that it was all to further Yuusei's already ridiculous spotlight width cause that would mean more Crow right? :D?

But... this?

Getting a-a dragon?!

They've fucked enough with canon this season and all of a sudden they're actually giving a real shit for crap they spouted in season one?!

Signer-fying is fine with me, but now you're making him a spotlight hog, overshadowing poor Aki, Rua and Ruka. I don't want my favourite character to continuously become oh so important factor in the story. I actually enjoyed the grand idea of having a Signer who didn't have any sort of Dragon to tie him down with.

Character variety. It's refreshing damnit! >.>

Besides, he's got an ace monster already. And a fucking powerful at that. How much more power does the Dragon really need to have to beat out Armoured Wing?! *mini-pissy-flail*

So in closing, I'll just go TL;DR and say this...:

STOP BE BUTCHERING CROW, CANON! I swear, it's like they got a whole set of writer's this season. It stinks! >.>

Now I feel like the only really good thing about watching that was the opening. They inserted a bunch of scenes from the 10th anniversary movie, most of which include Yuugi, WHO MADE ME WIBBLE SO DAMN MUCH CAUSE HE WAS FULL OF RIDICULOUS-ANGST-RIDDEN CUTE <3

rant, pokemon, games, yugioh 5ds
