I do quite a bit of drawing, and quite often draw or paint for several hours. What with the kayak and the garden, my arms and shoulders do get a fair bit of exercise, at least intermittently.

Hey there. I'm always pleased when you post. (Even though *I* seldom do.) I'm sure I'd find drawing from the shoulder not only painful but frustrating as well, because I wouldn't have nearly as much control that way. When I was practicing penmanship in primary school the teacher would sometimes tell us to move our whole arm but for me that was the quick way to disaster.
