I kinda want a serinette now. Not so much on the auto-moustasch thing (HOW DO YOU SPELL THAT) because that um, weird.

Note: retraining songbirds apparently = not-weird.

If you have a songbird but not a moustache, that's entirely logical, but if you have NEITHER a songbird nor a moustache, it's just odd :-D

Exactly! This is why I have difficulty with the idea that we have more technologies today than ever before. Serinette technology has been *completely lost!*

Apparently before the invention of the record player, there was a widespread belief that birds made an acceptable substitute. Or could do if they would just get their tiny feathery act together sufficiently. 8-/

While I was walking the dog at sunrise this morning, there were goldfinches in the trees singing all sorts of fancy trills and arpeggios. And they're so pretty as well. I can see why the Victorians kept so many of them captive, poor beasties...
